What about this famous one hour minimum charge?
El Cheapo's fabled one-hour minimum charge includes the aformentioned friendly moving crew, a vehicle, and the tools necessary to move you safely and efficiently, plus basic insurance coverage!
How does El Cheapo calculate charges after the one hour minimum?
Small apartment dwellers take note: El Cheapo is the only moving company we know of that charges by the quarter hour after a one hour minimum with no additional or hidden charges.
Are there any additional or hidden charges? Do you charge travel time?
All charges are listed on your copy of the contract, which will be presented to you at the beginning and again at the end of the move. Moves in Toronto normally include our famous one hour minimum charge, additional charges by the quarter hour, and HST. For local moves, charges begin when the movers arrive at your residence and continue through the loading of the truck, the drive to your new home, and unloading in your new home. Long distance moves may include additional travel time and/or gas costs.
Are your rates different at different times of the month?
We charge lower rates for those customers willing to move before or after the end-of-the-month.
Do you have any non-profit, charitable, social assistance, seniors or student discounts?
Yes!
Will you move my (sofa, bookcase, mattress) only?
We do on occasion offer special pricing, if we can find a
slot between jobs to move your single item. Give us a call.
Do you carry insurance?
Our prices normally include coverage of your goods in transit at a level of 60 cents per pound remuneration for lost or damaged goods. Enhanced coverage (up to a total of $50,000) is also available.
Can I (WE) help?
Yes! You can save a lot of time and money by preparing for our arrival. We will provide all the labour if that is your choice... but imagine (for example) how much you will save by bringing all your small items and boxes down from the third floor to the driveway before the truck arrives! Be aware, however, that we cannot be held liable for any damage to the goods you help to move or for any injuries you may sustain. Only El Cheapo agents or contractors are allowed to load or unload the truck itself.
